  1. What makes Living Matcha different from ordinary green tea?
    Living Matcha is shade grown in the final stages of production. The leaves are covered with bamboo, reducing the light that can get through. This causes extra chlorophyll to rush to the leaves to help absorb more light, and in this explains Living Matcha’s vibrant green colour, off-the-charts nutritional value and high anti-oxidants levels!
  2. What grades of matcha do you sell?
    We sell a high-grade, organic powder which is suitable for drinking and cooking, and a premium grade drinking matcha, which is best served on special occasions or enjoyed by true matcha enthusiasts.
  3. Is Living Matcha certified organic?
    It absolutely is. All Living Matcha products are certified USDA and EU standard organic.
  4. Why is Matcha more expensive that other teas?
    The unique processing, grading and selecting of matcha green tea is very time-consuming, and only a certain amount is produced each year. The extra work, along with superior quality and nutritional content of matcha tea explains the higher price.
  5. Where is your matcha green tea grown?
    Living Matcha green tea powder comes from the skilled hands and organic tea plantations of Kagoshima, on Kyushu Island in Japan.
  6. Is Living Matcha caffeinated? How does it compare to coffee?
    Yes, matcha tea does have caffeine, but not as much as coffee. The truly interesting thing about matcha tea though is the L-theanine content, which counteracts the effect of the caffeine, allowing for a softer, more-sustained boost in energy.
  7. How should Living Matcha tea be stored?
    Ideally store your Living Matcha in a cool, dark place such as a cupboard or even the fridge. Always make sure the close the tins and bags securely, so they are airtight.

Questions About Health and Benefits of Living Matcha Green Tea

  1. What’s the deal with anti-oxidants? What are they actually good for?
    Anti-oxidants protect your body from free radical damage, which results from many aspects of our modern lives, such as stress, pollution, poor eating habits and even normal metabolism.Free radicals can generally be thought of as ‘electron thieves’, stealing electrons from any nearby substances that will let them. The loser of the electron can be radically altered in terms of form and function, and the electron loss can even affect our DNA.Antioxidants serve electrons to these electron thieves, without becoming damaged themselves, thus reducing free radical damage in the body. Isn’t science fun? 🙂
  2. Can matcha help me lose weight?
    Matcha is known to boost metabolism and to be thermogenic. Consuming matcha alone won’t drop the pounds, but in combination with a healthy diet and exercise routine, matcha can absolutely play an important role in your overall weight loss regimen.
  3. So matcha has more nutrition that normal green tea, how does that work?
    It does indeed!! There are two main reasons for this:The first is that matcha is shade-grown in the final stages of production. This shade growing causes extra chlorophyll to rush into the leaves, giving matcha tea a gigantic boost in nutrition and antioxidants.The second reason is that because matcha tea is consumed as a whole-leaf powder, you actually consume all the nutrition that is available in the lead. When you consume regular green tea, you merely consume the infusion and much of the tea’s nutritional offering is discarded with the leaf.
  4. I need more energy, but is there really no crash or jitters?
    Totally. Try it and see for yourself. The l-theanine content of matcha counteracts the caffeine, allowing for a longer, smoother and more sustained energy lift.Do be aware that if you drink too much, or you drink on an empty stomach, you may feel shaky or uncomfortable. Everyone has a different tolerance, so start with a single cup and see how you feel. As with everything in life, balance and moderation are key! 🙂

Questions About Orders, Delivery and Returns

  1. Where can I buy Living Matcha?
    Living Matcha is currently only available on our website. We are working at getting our brands into the high-street shops and other online vendors. Watch this space.If you can help us spread the word, please do! Email trade@livingmatcha.com and let’s get the ball rolling!
  2. When will I receive my order?
    All UK orders usually arrive within 1-3 days of ordering, depending on the shipping option that you picked. Orders outside of the UK may take up to 7-14 days to arrive.If your order has taken longer than this, please contact us immediately on orders@livingmatcha.com (quoting your order number) and we will investigate for you.
  3. Can I track my order?
    We are currently shipping without tracking, but are working hard to make a tracked shipping option available.
  4. Is it possible to collect my items in person?
    At this stage, we are an online-only operation. We are working at getting our products into high-street shops, however. So please watch this (exciting) space!
  5. What countries does Living Matcha ship to?
    We ship globally! At present our UK service is best (free shipping), but our products are available to ship worldwide. Your order may take up to two weeks if you are outside the UK.
  6. How much does it cost to ship to my country?
    Each country has different shipping rates, so please select your shipping options at checkout and the price options will be displayed for you.For UK residents, we currently offer free standard shipping on all items in store! 🙂
  7. I want to change the shipping address on my delivery. How can I do this?
    Do it quickly!! We are very prompt when processing orders so if you need to change your address please email it to: orders@livingmatcha.com as soon as possible.If we have already sent your item, then there is no way to change the address.
  8. What is your returns policy?
    Whilst the vast majority of our customers are delighted with their Living Matcha product, we understand that things don’t always work out perfectly.If you are unsatisfied with your product, simply return it to us within 30 days of purchase for a refund, replacement or store credit. Please email us first, quoting your order number, and we will provide you with a returns address: support@livingmatcha.com

    We currently accept payments via Paypal, Visa, Visa Election, Mastercard and American Express.

    Absolutely. Our online store is equipped with a totally secure, 128-bit SSL secure certificate.

    We use the same level of high-security encryption that major banks use around the world. Your personal details are safe and secure with us.
  4. Why did my transaction fail?
    There are many reasons a transaction may fail, so please don’t worry too much about it.Often a transaction may fail due to the bank not authorising the transaction, and it is rarely to do with a lack of funds. Try calling your bank right away to see what the problem is, and once it is resolved simply try placing your order again.If you were bounced back to the store, or any page except for a confirmation page, then you have not been charged.
